Karen Hofmeister

Principal + Chief Creative Officer

Karen is the founder and has been the Chief Creative Meister of Red Doodle Creative, formerly hofmeister creative, since 2014. With Colorado roots, she holds a BFA from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Communication Design. In her 16+ years of experience in graphic design and strategic brand development she has worked for some of the largest branding firms and advertising agencies on the Front Range. In that time she had the opportunity to work with the following clients:

Karen’s award-winning work has been featured in HOW and Print Magazines. Over the years, she has designed 10 dresses for the annual One Club’s Denver Paper Fashion Show to raise money for DAVA, providing arts education, social and life skills for Aurora’s urban youth—all while working with a medium that allows her to think outside the box and stretch the imagination. She is an active member Erie Chamber of Commerce, has a seat on the Erie Public Arts Advisory Board and had served as President of the Downtown Erie Business Association.

The  “Red Doodle Creative” brand was built around the concept of a doodle or sketch being the spark that ignites the bigger idea—drawn by the human hand. It represents how we partner and collaborate with clients, using expertise with smart design thinking to create powerful results.

The name was also inspired by our red doodle, Rusty. He’s a smile generator, foot warmer, adventure seeker, and waggle-butt greeter that has difficulty containing his excitement. He symbolizes the soft, playful and human side of our brand.
